    Packing cartridge

    The learner installs, adjusts, removes, and inspects soft packing around the simulated shaft. The instructor can observe the sequence; the cartridge is planned to reset between attempts.

    Type 1 seal fixture

    A visibly inspectable fixture is planned around a common Type 1 installation task. Exact included parts and compatibility remain part of the commercial-BOM review.

    Shared simulated shaft

    Both tasks sit on one shared one-inch simulated shaft so the hand-task relationship remains visible. The shaft is never powered.

    Direct handwheel

    The learner rotates the shaft directly by hand. No drill, motor, air, mains water, shop hose, or live-pump interface is in scope.

    Low-volume water circuit

    The proposed clear circuit and tray use water only, with a frozen maximum of 500 ml and a hard design limit of 0.3 bar.

Is RotaVue P1 a working pump?

No. RotaVue P1 is a validation-stage concept for manual installation practice. It has no motor, impeller, powered pump, or operating process connection. The shaft is turned directly by hand and the proposed circuit uses no more than 500 ml of water at a hard design limit of 0.3 bar. It is not a pressure test or an operating-equipment substitute, and it does not reproduce speed, heat, chemistry, vibration, alignment, or pump performance.

What can a learner practice on it?

The frozen scope combines two planned tasks on one shared one-inch simulated shaft: pump-packing installation and removal, plus installation of a common Type 1 mechanical seal. The intended workflow also includes inspection, correction, repetition, and instructor-led review. Exact consumables, included components, task-card content, and compatibility boundaries are not yet commercially frozen. Those details will be supplied in the current technical scope during a fit review rather than guessed on this page.

What do the water and hand rotation show?

The planned low-volume circuit and direct hand rotation are intended to make gross, low-head leakage visible while an instructor reviews the installation steps. They do not show how a seal behaves at operating speed or process pressure, and they do not establish field readiness. Containment, observation quality, and the reset procedure still require physical-alpha testing. Published evidence will change only after those checks are measured and documented.

Why is the system limited to <=0.3 bar?

The 0.3 bar value is a deliberate hard design limit that keeps the concept focused on a narrow manual installation task. It is not a performance target and must not be read as pressure-test capability. RotaVue P1 is not intended to reproduce an operating pump or validate a seal under service conditions. Final hardware still requires engineering review, protective-device decisions, and release testing before any commercial unit is offered.

Does RotaVue certify a technician or prove field competence?

No. RotaVue P1 does not certify a learner, prove field competence, or authorize unsupervised work. It is proposed as reusable practice hardware within training led by a qualified instructor or employer. The instructor and employer retain responsibility for curriculum, supervision, safety, assessment, qualification, and work authorization. Any future task rubric would need independent review before assessment-performance claims could appear here.

Which packing and Type 1 seals are included or compatible?

The public scope is pump packing and a common Type 1 mechanical-seal installation fixture. The exact packing materials, seal sizes, consumables, and compatibility list are not yet frozen for sale. RotaVue therefore does not claim universal compatibility or compatibility with a buyer's existing parts. A fit review will compare the current proposed hardware with the task your program or shop wants to teach.

What is included in the single station and four-station fleet?

P1 Single is planned as one individually cased station. The fleet is planned as four independently cased stations, without a shared water manifold or common safety device. The concept anatomy includes the two task fixtures, shared shaft and handwheel, contained water circuit, task cards, seeded-fault elements, and basic tools. The commercial bill of materials, quantities, consumables, replacement routes, and release-test record are still pending and will be confirmed in a written quote.

How is the station drained, dried, and reset between learners?

The planned seven-step workflow ends with draining, drying, repacking, and resetting the task elements for the next attempt. A physical alpha has not yet established the final drain path, cleaning materials, drying time, inspection points, or validated reset instructions. Those procedures will be documented before a commercial pilot. Until then, this page describes the intended workflow rather than presenting an untested cleaning or turnaround claim.

Can it connect to a drill, motor, air, mains water, or a live pump?

No. Those interfaces are outside the frozen scope. The station is intended for direct hand rotation only and is not designed to connect to a drill, motor, compressed air, mains water, shop hose, powered pump, or live pump. It has no electrical requirement. Any attempt to add power or external pressure would move the product outside its stated use and safety boundary.

How do price, deposit or PO, freight, tax, delivery, acceptance, and warranty work?

The current list prices are $12,500 USD ex VAT for P1 Single and $44,000 USD ex VAT for a four-station fleet. Both are made to paid order, with availability confirmed before reservation. Freight, tax, territory, payment structure, acceptance, warranty, lead time, and delivery are not promised on this page. They must be confirmed in a written quote and agreement after technical and commercial fit review.

Which territories are currently available?

Territory availability is not published as a blanket claim. Bjorvand Solutions is based in Norway, but a buyer's location, freight route, tax treatment, insurance, support plan, and applicable product requirements must be reviewed before an order is accepted. Share the destination country in the pilot-brief request and the current territory status can be checked without implying worldwide delivery. Do not infer availability from the published list prices alone.

Can RotaVue fit an existing course or shop training process?

That is the purpose of the fit review. RotaVue P1 is intended as supervised practice hardware between or after qualified instruction, not as a replacement for an instructor, OEM course, apprenticeship, or live-equipment assessment. The review starts with your present method, learner count, task sequence, and Type 1 seal or packing objective. Any curriculum mapping, assessment rubric, or support material will be described only when it actually exists.
